PMU - Aftercare

To achieve the best possible healed results, please read through your aftercare carefully and follow each step exactly as outlined.

💎 What to Expect

Remember, your colour will appear stronger and more defined immediately after treatment — this is completely normal.

Here’s how your healing journey will typically look:

Days 1–4 – Colour appears darker and more intense.
Days 4–7 – The area may feel slightly itchy, and flakes of colour will lift away in patches — do not pick them.
Weeks 1–2 – Once flaking stops, the colour may look light or uneven. This is normal; the pigment will soften and bloomas the skin heals.
Week 2 – The outer skin has healed and colour will begin to settle.
Week 4 – The internal healing is complete and your true, soft colour will be visible.

Some unevenness or light patches are completely normal — this is why your Perfecting Session (6–12 weeks) is essential.

🌿 Brow Aftercare

Normal healing symptoms (first few days):
Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, flaking, and light itching.

✅ Do’s

  • Gently clean the brows once dailywith a damp cotton pad or unscented water wipe.

  • Apply a very thin layer of your healing cream once a day using a clean cotton bud (use a new bud each time).

  • Allow your brows to breathe — less is more when it comes to cream.

❌ Don’ts

  • Do not pick, rub, or peel any flakes — this will remove pigment and risk infection.

  • Do not apply makeup to the brows for at least 7 days.

  • Do not over-apply ointment — this can suffocate the skin.

  • Do not submerge your brows in water for 1 week.

  • Avoid skincare treatments for 5 days and waxing, electrolysis, or laser near the brows for 2 weeks.

  • Avoid sun exposure, saunas, Jacuzzis, swimming, and tanningfor 4 weeks.

  • Avoid strong skincare (Retin-A, acids, peels) over or near the area.

💋 Lip Blush Aftercare

Today (Day 1):

  • Gently clean the lips with the saline provided several times throughout the day.

  • Apply a thin layer of ointment after each clean, ensuring hands are freshly washed.

Days 2–7:

  • Clean with saline morning and evening, blot dry, and apply a thin layer of ointment.

  • Reapply ointment frequently throughout the day to keep lips moisturised and prevent cracking.

For 5–7 days:

  • Avoid getting the lips wet (no swimming, saunas, or steam rooms).

  • Avoid makeup, skincare, or exfoliation on the area.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise or anything that causes excessive sweating.

  • No sunbeds, direct sun exposure, or salty/chlorinated water.

☀️ Long-Term Care

To keep your results looking fresh and beautiful:

  • Always apply SPF 30–50 daily — sun exposure fades pigment over time.

  • If you are planning laser, chemical peel, or MRI treatments, please inform your provider.

  • PMU pigments contain iron oxides and titanium dioxide, which can react under certain laser or medical procedures.

  • The National Blood Service does not allow blood donations for 4 months after PMU.

🩺 Infection Control

Your treatment is performed in a fully sterile environment — all equipment is single-use and disposed of after every client.
Infection risk arises only from improper aftercare.

If you notice yellow discharge, spreading redness, or increased pain, please contact your GP immediately for advice and antibiotics if necessary.

💫 Remember

PMU is a two-session process — your second session perfects and balances your results.
If you have any questions during healing, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
