Even with the best intentions, many people make simple mistakes that delay healing. Here’s what to avoid if you want your piercing to stay healthy.


Mistake 1 – Over-Cleaning

Too much cleaning irritates your piercing. Stick to twice daily saline cleansing—no more, no less.


Mistake 2 – Using Harsh Products

Antiseptics, alcohol, and tea tree oil damage tissue. Only use sterile saline solution.


Mistake 3 – Sleeping on Your Piercing

Pressure causes bumps and migration. Try a travel pillow or piercing pillow to protect your ear at night.
